MADISON, WISCONSIN, December 29, 2006-a local Private Foundation donated $25,000 in efforts to firmly establish Aaron’s House in the Madison Isthmus.
“On the day I heard we would receive this incredible gift, I also heard from a young man in recovery, 22 years old with his first three months of sobriety,” said Aaron’s Dad, Tom Meyer. “This person opened a savings account he calls ‘Aaron's House Rent’. I'm humbled by the level of both commitments. They reflect mercy and gratitude”.
Aaron’s House, scheduled to open August 2007 at 850 E. Gorham Street, is an alcohol and drug-free home where young men ages 17-25 will live and support one another while continuing their education. It’s a 3-year pilot project spearheaded by the Aaron Meyer Foundation in partnership with the Chris Farley Foundation and Connections Counseling, LLC. Each is located in Madison, Wisconsin.
